New header

I changed from the historical Terminal Station photo (for which I never actually had rights) to an architectural-style shot of mostly Allen Plaza. While I loved the picture, I also felt it was a bit antiquated in style for the topics we deal with here.

I started to edit up a mix of Atlanta scenes, but decided I liked the simplicity of the single picture more. It is also a much smaller photo, so you can see the content easier. Thoughts?

  1. More room for content sounds good to me, though I liked the old picture, too. I might have rotated the new picture a bit clockwise before cropping, but then that might have made the header worse, not better.

  2. I love that old picture of the Terminal Station, but I think this one is functionally and thematically better.

  3. Bring back Terminal Station!! This one's fine, but I love the old one.

  4. I prefer the Terminal Station pic as it's more distinctive. Then again, I also post MP3s of Lester Maddox singing to my blog because they're distinctive.

  5. I don't care. But neither the old or new banner is recognizably Atlanta. The first has been gone for 37 years, the latest is barely out of construction.

  6. I like this new photo very much. This Ivan Allen area is becoming one of my favorites in the city to walk around.

Plus, it reminds me of the awesome cocktails at Drinkshop therein, so, that's a bonus.

  7. I did like the photo of Terminal Station, but the new photo is both visually attractive, and is short enough that I can begin to read the content without scrolling.

    Nice photo!

  8. I preferred the old picture of Terminal Station. There is a lesson contained in that picture about transportation, urban planning, and development, and a warning of what you get when you don't heed the lesson. That lesson/warning is central to the blog in a way that $15 valet isn't.
